AUSTRIANS' BALL 2012
Mid-February saw the traditional biennial Austrians' Ball taking place in St. Gallen. The Ball was opened by twenty dancing couples from our school performing a polka and a waltz, and to the delight of the Ball guests they also gave their midnight quadrille again at midnight. The ‚Austrians' Club ‘ and The Austrian embassy invite to this traditional event every two years, and prominent politicians from eastern Switzerland and Austria love to frequent it. AT the same time, the Ball presents the girls and boys of the Institut auf dem Rosenberg (who constitute our Jungdamen und –herrenkomitee / committee of young ladies and gents) with another welcome opportunity to practice public appearance, learn how to overcome possible attacks of stage fright, and to just make their audience enjoy themselves.
